Summary: Our client is looking for a Data Standards Lead to oversee the development and governance of data standards within a central government digital licensing programme. The role emphasizes ensuring interoperability across various services and departments while producing comprehensive documentation. The position requires active SC clearance and offers a primarily remote working arrangement with occasional travel to London. The contract is set to start ASAP and run through September.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of data standards for licensing-related services and datasets.
- Ensure interoperability across services, systems, departments and external partners.
- Analyse existing processes, datasets and service interactions to identify opportunities for standardisation and alignment.
- Produce clear and comprehensive documentation, including:
- Data models
- Data definitions
- Metadata standards
- Technical and governance documentation
Key Skills:
- Strong background in data standards development, data governance and/or data architecture.
- Experience working within UK Government or public sector digital delivery environments.
- Proven expertise in data interoperability, particularly within licensing or process-driven services.
- Experience drafting and developing standards suitable for GDS submission.
- Strong understanding of structured data, metadata and data modelling principles.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, facilitation and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively across both technical and non-technical teams.
- Active SC clearance.
