Summary: We are looking for a Data Protection Lead/Privacy Advisor to join a dynamic team focused on AI and digital innovation within the government. This role involves shaping privacy and data protection practices for cutting-edge projects in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. The position requires collaboration within a small team to ensure compliance and privacy are integrated into all stages of project development. The contract is for 6 months with a day rate of £650, classified as inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead on Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and risk assessments.
- Maintain and review Records of Processing Activities (ROPAs).
- Develop and implement policies, standards, and process documentation aligned with GDPR and the Data Protection Act.
- Provide expert advice on Privacy by Design principles for digital services.
- Support governance frameworks and ensure compliance across AI and digital initiatives.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in data protection and privacy advisory roles within public sector/government.
- Strong knowledge of GDPR, Data Protection Act, and related regulations.
- Expertise in AI/ML and digital environments.
- Hands-on experience with: DPIAs, Risk assessment, ROPAs, Policy and standards development.
- Data governance experience.
- Ability to take a pragmatic approach to privacy challenges in innovative projects.
