Summary: The Data Project Manager will lead the delivery of a Data Foundations Project as part of a Digital Transformation Programme, focusing on establishing core data infrastructure and enabling analytics capabilities. This role requires managing agile project plans, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring high-quality data flows. The position is primarily remote with occasional office visits in Dorset and is outside IR35. The contract is for an initial term of 12 months with a strong likelihood of extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain agile project plans, including all project documentation, clarity on roles and responsibilities, communication, cost, timing, tasks, and resourcing.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define project scope, and develop actionable plans.
- Develop and maintain project documentation, status reports, and risk management plans.
- Communicate project status, risks, and issues to the Strategic Data Transformation Lead and key stakeholders.
- Maintain effective backlogs, user stories, and KPI performance reporting within Azure DevOps.
- Understand dependencies across co-dependent projects and maintain effective collaboration across the organisation.
Key Skills:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in enterprise-scale data projects or transformations.
- Proven experience managing projects across multiple methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, hybrid).
- Experience in large-scale transformation programmes, including backlog management, demand management, and structured delivery practices.
- Strong ability to translate technical concepts to business stakeholders.
- Demonstrable track record of delivering high-quality data infrastructure and analytics capabilities.
- Completer-finisher mindset, transparent, highly motivated, and able to energise teams.
- Excellent facilitation, interpersonal, presentation, and organisational skills.
- Experience with Azure DevOps or equivalent project management tools.
