Summary: The Data Privacy Consultant role at Harvey Nash involves providing expert guidance on data protection risk assessments to ensure compliance with data privacy legislation. This position is a 3-month contract starting ASAP, offering a daily rate between £350 and £380, and is primarily remote with some onsite visits required. Candidates with experience in financial services or consultancy are preferred. The consultant will report to the Data Privacy Manager and will be responsible for reviewing Data Protection Impact Assessments and responding to data protection queries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), identifying data privacy risks and advising on mitigation strategies.
- Respond to Data Protection queries related to day-to-day operational challenges.
- Represent the Data Privacy function on project task forces.
- Support the completion of Transfer Risk Assessments and contact reviews for international personal data transfers.
Key Skills:
- Working knowledge of UK and European data protection laws and practices including UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
- Awareness of UK Data Use and Access Act and other international data protection laws and practices would be beneficial.
- Experience of assessing and articulating data protection risks to stakeholders.
- Experience assessing Data Protection Impact Assessments and Transfer Risk Assessments.
- Understanding of the types of personal data processing.
- Understanding of key data privacy and information security controls.
