Data Operations Analyst

Posted 1 day ago by Computer Futures

Overview

Our client is currently undergoing a major transformation programme, migrating from a legacy on-premise platform to a cloud-based solution. During the transition, both systems will operate in parallel, creating a requirement for a Data Operations Analyst to help ensure data integrity, consistency, and a seamless client migration experience.

This role will sit within the Data Operations function and play a key part in comparing datasets across both platforms, investigating discrepancies, supporting client migrations, and providing clear communication to both internal stakeholders and customers throughout the process.

This is an excellent opportunity for a junior to mid-level contractor with experience in data operations, data quality, reconciliation, or migration projects who is looking to gain exposure to a large-scale cloud transformation programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed data comparisons between legacy and cloud-based platforms during the parallel run phase.
  • Identify, investigate, and document discrepancies between datasets.
  • Perform data reconciliation activities to ensure consistency and accuracy across both environments.

  • Work closely with Data Operations, Technology, Product, and Client Services teams to resolve data-related issues.
  • Support the migration of customers from the legacy platform to the new cloud environment.
  • Produce clear and concise reports detailing findings, exceptions, and recommended actions.
  • Track, manage, and communicate migration-related issues through to resolution.
  • Assist in developing operational processes and controls to support the new platform.
  • Support user acceptance testing and post-migration validation activities.
  • Escalate risks and data concerns where appropriate.
  • Maintain detailed documentation throughout the migration lifecycle.

Required Experience

  • Experience working within Data Operations, Data Quality, Data Administration, Data Migration, or a similar function.
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills with the ability to compare and validate datasets.
  • Experience identifying, analysing, and resolving data discrepancies.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including data manipulation and reconciliation activities.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
  • Experience producing clear written documentation and communicating findings to stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment.
