Role Overview
We are seeking a Data Modeler to support a Databricks unified data platform initiative focused on building a common data model and reusable data products such as Patient Journey and HCP 360.
The ideal candidate will possess hands-on data modeling expertise and strong experience working with commercial life sciences data.
Key Responsibilities
- Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models across patient, HCP, HCO, product, payer, and commercial activity domains.
- Define modeling standards across Bronze, Silver, and Gold medallion layers.
- Establish harmonized entities in the Silver layer and consumption-ready data products in the Gold layer.
- Translate business requirements into entity relationships, data grain, shared dimensions, business definitions, and historical tracking.
- Develop source-to-target mappings and reusable data structures supporting multiple data products.
- Collaborate with business SMEs, architects, and engineers on identity resolution, data quality, lineage, governance, and patient privacy initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Strong SQL skills and experience with enterprise, dimensional, and canonical data modeling.
- Experience with Databricks, Delta Lake, and Medallion Architecture.
- Strong working knowledge of commercial life sciences data sources, including:
- Prescription and claims data (IQVIA, Symphony Health)
- CRM platforms (Veeva)
- HCP/HCO reference data
- Specialty pharmacy and patient hub data feeds
- Payer and formulary datasets
- Understanding of data structures, granularity, refresh cycles, coverage limitations, and patient/provider linkage methodologies.
- Experience translating commercial use cases such as Patient Journey Analytics and HCP 360 into scalable data models.
