Summary: The Data Governance Lead will be responsible for transforming a paper data governance strategy into a fully operational framework. This role requires proven experience in implementing data governance frameworks and the ability to translate strategy into practical solutions. The position is primarily remote but requires the candidate to be based in the UK. The contract duration is between 3 to 6 months, with an immediate start date.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and deliver a Data Governance Framework approach
- Develop and implement new policies and procedures
- Update and embed the data ownership model with operational teams
- Establish and lead a Data Governance Forum
- Implement a data issue management process
Key Skills:
- Strong background in data governance
- Demonstrable experience of having implemented a data governance framework previously
- Experience of delivering a DAMA based framework would be preferable
- Proven ability to translate strategy and policy into operational delivery
- Hands-on understanding of data processes, ownership, and governance best practice

We’re looking for an experienced Data Governance Lead to join on a contract basis and take ownership of turning a paper data governance strategy into a fully operational framework. You’ll bring proven experience of implementing data governance frameworks from scratch and have the ability to shape strategy into practical solutions, embedding policies, processes, and ownership across teams.
Location: You must be UK based but the work is mainly Remote
Duration: 3-6 months
Rate: £570 per day (Outside IR35)
Start: ASAP
Key Deliverables:
- Define and deliver a Data Governance Framework approach
