Key Responsibilities:
- Migrate existing code from SAS Enterprise Guide/Teradata to Snowflake, ensuring accuracy, performance and maintainability.
- Develop and maintain survey data processes and automation workflows.
- Simplify and optimise existing codebases to enhance performance and maintainability.
- Manage data sampling triggers and encryption processes to ensure secure and compliant data handling.
- Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders, gathering requirements and providing clear, timely updates on project progress.
- Demonstrate excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, communicating technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Key Skills:
- Experience in both on-premise tools (eg SAS EG, Teradata) and cloud platforms (eg Snowflake) as Data Engineer.
- Demonstrable experience in code migration and transformation, moving SAS/Teradata processes into cloud-based platforms (Snowflake).
- Python knowledge for automation and data processing (beneficial).
- SQL knowledge and experience working on large datasets.
- Experience with Snowflake and cloud platforms.
- Ability to automate workflows and simplify existing code to improve efficiency.
- Understanding of sampling triggers and data encryption for secure data handling.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, able to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical teams.

On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Data Engineer (SAS/Cloud Migration) for a 6 month contract based in any one of the bank's offices (London, Edinburgh, Manchester, Bristol or Birmingham) on a remote first model (on average twice a month to the office).
Purpose of the role:
The Data Engineer will support a small, specialised team within Data & Analytics, on both a vendor transition and a cloud migration programme.
What you'll do:
