Description
We are looking for a Data Engineer to support a remote Contract engagement.
This role focuses on strengthening device management and compliance operations while helping ensure policies are effectively defined, validated, and enforced across the environment.
The ideal candidate brings a strong technical background in data and systems engineering, along with hands-on experience working with modern platforms and compliance-focused workflows.
Responsibilities
- Assess existing device management policies to determine effectiveness, identify gaps, and document areas requiring remediation.
- Convert validated policy frameworks into Intune configurations and help align enforcement rules with operational needs.
- Contribute to the migration of approximately 300 devices from Jamf into Intune while maintaining stability and user readiness.
- Support FIDO2 compliance initiatives and help implement device compliance standards across managed endpoints.
- Monitor policy behavior after deployment, troubleshoot issues, and refine configurations to improve consistency and control.
- Partner with technical stakeholders to translate business and security requirements into practical management policies.
- Use scripting and data engineering tools to analyze operational data, automate repeatable tasks, and improve reporting visibility.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with device management platforms, including prior work involving Jamf and Microsoft Intune.
- Strong understanding of compliance policy design, validation, and enforcement for managed devices.
- Experience supporting authentication and security controls such as FIDO2 in an enterprise environment.
- Proficiency in Python for automation, analysis, or systems integration tasks.
- Working knowledge of Apache Spark, Apache Hadoop, and Apache Kafka.
- Experience building or supporting ETL processes to move and transform operational data.
- Ability to investigate technical issues, interpret policy outcomes, and communicate findings clearly to stakeholders.
