Summary: The Senior Data Engineer role involves leading the migration of on-premises SQL and Cosmos DB to Azure within a SaaS platform's new Data team. The position requires designing scalable data architectures and integrating Data Science and Machine Learning into pricing systems. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence the data migration process and establish a robust data infrastructure. An immediate start is needed for this initial 6-month remote contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Continue the migration of on-premises SQL and Cosmos DB to Azure.
- Design and implement scalable and efficient data architecture and pipelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Data Science and Machine Learning models into the pricing system.
- Establish best practices and governance for data management and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Contribute to the growth and development of the Data team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance data processing and analytics capabilities.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in leading data migration projects, particularly to cloud platforms like Azure.
- Proven experience with ADF (DataFactory) & Databricks.
- Strong expertise in SQL, Cosmos DB, and cloud technologies.
- Experience with Data Science and Machine Learning integration.
- Ability to design and implement scalable data architectures.
- Strong BI & ETL skills.
