Data Consultant

We are seeking an experienced Data Consultant with a strong background in the Housing IT sector to support a client on a short-term consultancy basis. This role is fully remote and sits outside IR35 legislation, offering a day rate of £400. The contract length is initially 3 to 6 months, with the potential for extension depending on project requirements.

The ideal candidate will bring a robust understanding of social housing systems and data flows. You will be responsible for advising on best practices for data migration, integration, reporting and strategy within housing management systems. A proven track record of working with housing software platforms such as Northgate, Civica, Orchard or similar is essential. You should also have demonstrable experience in transforming complex datasets into actionable insights to support operational and strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities include analysing data structures and quality, mapping data across systems, supporting ETL processes, and ensuring data accuracy and compliance. You should be comfortable conducting data audits and be able to work collaboratively with internal teams, including IT and business stakeholders, to ensure that data solutions align with the organisation's objectives.

To be successful in this role, you must have excellent knowledge of SQL, Power BI or other visualisation tools, and experience working with APIs for data integration. A working knowledge of data governance frameworks and related legislation, such as GDPR, is also required. Strong communication and documentation skills are critical, as you will be providing reports and recommendations to technical and non-technical team members.
