Cyber Security Engineer with rapid7

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on cybersecurity engineering experience, including direct implementation and operation of security controls (not solely design/advisory work).
• Solid hands-on experience with core enterprise IT security tooling: IAM/PAM platforms, cloud security controls (Azure/AWS/Google Cloud Platform), network security (firewalls, segmentation), and EDR/XDR.
• Hands-on experience securing OT/IoT or connected-device environments — including network segmentation, asset discovery/monitoring, and secure device provisioning or lifecycle management.
• Working knowledge of industrial/OT protocols and monitoring approaches, and how they differ from traditional IT networking and security tooling.
• Experience supporting or working alongside MDR/SOC operations — tuning detections, triaging alerts, and improving monitoring fidelity.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and comfort working directly in production environments with minimal supervision.
• Solid communication skills and comfort operating as a hands-on technical resource embedded inside a client organization.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
