Summary: The Corporate Technical Finance Manager role is an interim position focused on delivering the statement of accounts for a local government client. The position requires leading technical accounting aspects, managing audits, and overseeing treasury management functions. The role is fully remote with occasional in-office meetings and has a contract length of 5-6 months. Candidates must be qualified accountants with relevant local authority experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading all aspects of technical accounting within the council.
  • Production of the statement of accounts.
  • Managing the audit process.
  • Managing the capital programme and developing the capital strategy.
  • Overseeing the treasury management function.
  • Line managing a team of two direct reports, including a Financial Accountant and a Treasury Management post.

Key Skills:

  • Qualified Accountant (CIPFA, ACCA, or ICAEW).
  • Recent local authority experience leading on the statement of accounts.
  • Experience in treasury management is advantageous.
