Summary: The Corporate Technical Finance Manager role is an interim position focused on delivering the statement of accounts for a local government client. The position requires leading technical accounting aspects, managing audits, and overseeing treasury management functions. The role is fully remote with occasional in-office meetings and has a contract length of 5-6 months. Candidates must be qualified accountants with relevant local authority experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading all aspects of technical accounting within the council.
- Production of the statement of accounts.
- Managing the audit process.
- Managing the capital programme and developing the capital strategy.
- Overseeing the treasury management function.
- Line managing a team of two direct reports, including a Financial Accountant and a Treasury Management post.
Key Skills:
- Qualified Accountant (CIPFA, ACCA, or ICAEW).
- Recent local authority experience leading on the statement of accounts.
- Experience in treasury management is advantageous.
