Summary: As a Corporate Counsel at Mitsubishi Chemical Group Corporation, you will provide legal support to affiliates across the EMEA region, focusing on corporate, commercial, and day-to-day business matters. Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to corporate transactions, including acquisitions, divestments, and restructurings, by conducting research, preparing documentation, and coordinating internal stakeholders.
- Support senior legal colleagues on a broad range of corporate, commercial, and transactional matters across the EMEA region.
- Prepare, draft, and review commercial agreements, ensuring alignment with internal policies and legal requirements.
- Assist with corporate governance and company secretarial activities for affiliated entities, including documentation, filings, and record-keeping.
- Support pre-litigation and compliance matters, helping assess risk, coordinate external counsel, and manage documentation.
- Collaborate closely with global teams such as HR, Finance, Compliance, and Internal Audit, promoting trust, respect, and a solutions-oriented mindset.
Key Skills:
- Qualified lawyer or equivalent (Germany or England preferred).
- Experience in a multi-national, diversified corporate environment; exposure to chemical, materials, or manufacturing industries is desirable.
- Background in corporate/commercial property law, M&A, transactions, or general commercial work.
- Business-aware and practical approach to legal issues, balancing risk with commercial priorities.
- Autonomous and proactive working style, comfortable managing multiple topics and adapting to changing demands.
- Interest in compliance topics (e.g., antitrust, export control) and willingness to support training and awareness activities.
- Fluency in English required; additional languages are an advantage.
