Summary: The Copywriter role at DesignMyNight is a mid-level position focused on creating engaging and optimized content for the UK’s leading nightlife discovery platform. The successful candidate will be responsible for writing compelling copy for various hospitality venues and events, ensuring high editorial standards while collaborating with the marketing team. This remote position requires a passion for the hospitality industry and a strong understanding of SEO practices. The role is offered on a fixed-term contract for 5 months, working 4 days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Write compelling and descriptive copy for bars, pubs, restaurants, and events across the UK, Ireland, and Australia - expected to write copy for 80-100 items a day.
- Ensure all content is optimised for SEO, GEO, and AEO with a strong understanding of EEAT principles and writing for LLMs.
- Sub-edit and proofread your own work to maintain high editorial standards.
- Collaborate with the wider B2C & Marketing team, as well as account managers, to align copy with business goals.
- Maintain the DesignMyNight tone of voice while adapting to different content formats and audiences.
- Please note that you will not be able to use AI to craft copy in this role.
Key Skills:
- Minimum 2 years of professional writing experience in a similar field (hospitality, lifestyle, travel, or entertainment).
- A genuine passion for the hospitality industry - you know your speakeasies from your gastropubs.
- Proven writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent research skills with the ability to quickly identify and describe the unique selling points of venues and events.
- Strong understanding of SEO, GEO, and AEO best practices, including EEAT and writing for AI-readability.
- Exceptional time-management skills with the ability to maintain high standards of accuracy and quality in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with CMS platforms and basic HTML is a plus.
