Summary: Codurance is seeking an experienced contract software engineer to join their team, focusing on Python backend services and React development. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain Python backend services and React applications.
  • Contribute to client projects using the Django framework or other Python web frameworks.
  • Manage relational databases and data modeling.
  • Utilize AWS services such as SNS, SQS, EKS, and S3.
  • Implement Kubernetes solutions using tools like kubectl and k9s.
  • Build systems that operate at scale and manage production deployments.
  • Work with CI/CD pipelines and tools like CodeFresh.
  • Update Helm charts and Terraform configurations.
  • Utilize OpenSearch or ElasticSearch as needed.
  • Participate in a support rota for one week out of every eight, with additional compensation.

Codurance is an innovative consultancy that helps organisations embrace the power of technology to drive business success. We are currently seeking an experienced contract software engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Codurance software engineer, you will have the opportunity to work with the latest technologies and contribute to the success of our clients' projects. This is an initial 6 months contract, inside IR35. Day rate: £600-£650 day We'd like to let you know that you might be asked to join a support rota for one week out of every eight. This will come with extra compensation.

Requirements

  • Essential:
    • Strong experience with Python backend services and proficient in React development
    • Django framework experience (or other Python web frameworks)
    • Solid understanding of relational databases and data modelling
    • Hands-on experience with AWS services (SNS, SQS, EKS, S3)
    • Kubernetes experience using tools like kubectl and k9s
    • Understanding of building systems that operate at scale
    • Experience with production deployments and CI/CD pipelines (CodeFresh or similar)
    • Comfortable updating Helm charts and Terraform configurations

  • Nice to Have:
    • Kotlin programming experience

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Strong knowledge of architecture and development patterns (e.g. Microservices, CQRS, Domain Driven Design, Event Sourcing etc.)
  • An appreciation for good development practices (Test-driven development, pair programming, continuous integration/deployment)
