Summary: Codurance is seeking an experienced contract software engineer to join their team, focusing on leveraging technology for business success. The role involves working with modern technologies, primarily in a remote capacity, and includes a support rota requirement. This position is for an initial 6-month contract and is classified as inside IR35. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python and related technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain Python backend services using Django or other frameworks.
- Utilize OpenSearch or ElasticSearch for data management.
- Implement and manage relational databases and data modeling.
- Work with AWS services including SNS, SQS, EKS, and S3.
- Manage Kubernetes environments using tools like kubectl and k9s.
- Build scalable systems and handle production deployments with CI/CD pipelines.
- Update Helm charts and Terraform configurations.
- Engage in React development as needed.
- Participate in a support rota for one week out of every eight, with additional compensation.
Key Skills:
- Strong experience with Python and Django framework.

As a Codurance software engineer, you will have the opportunity to work with the latest technologies and contribute to the success of our clients' projects. This is an initial 6 months contract, inside IR35. Day rate: £600-£650 day * We’d like to let you know that you might be asked to join a support rota for one week out of every eight. This will come with extra compensation.
Location: Must be UK based, mostly remote work
Requirements:
- Strong experience with Python backend services
- Django framework experience (or other Python web frameworks)
- Experience with OpenSearch or ElasticSearch
- Solid understanding of relational databases and data modelling
- Hands-on experience with AWS services (SNS, SQS, EKS, S3)
- Kubernetes experience using tools like kubectl and k9s
- Understanding of building systems that operate at scale
- Experience with production deployments and CI/CD pipelines (CodeFresh or similar)
- Comfortable updating Helm charts and Terraform configurations
- Comfortable with React development
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Strong knowledge of architecture and development patterns (e.g. Microservices, CQRS, Domain Driven Design, Event Sourcing etc.)
- An appreciation for good development practices (Test-driven development, pair programming, continuous integration/deployment)
