Interviews Monday/Tuesday | Immediate Start | Contract Python / Azure Engineer (Outside IR35) Techmunity are hiring a Contract Software Engineer to come work with a boutique software consultancy that needs a UK-based Python/Azure contractor to help unblock a live system that’s become messy and needs stabilising. This is a short, hands-on engagement to start (2 weeks guaranteed), with a strong chance of extension as further projects are signed off. This is not greenfield and not an architecture role. The stack is straightforward; the challenge is understanding the system and fixing what’s broken.
What you’ll be doing
- Getting into an existing Python/Azure codebase
- Reading logs, tracing API flows, and understanding data mappings
- Debugging issues in a live environment
- Helping untangle an over-complicated data model and exports
Tech environment
- Python
- Azure (Functions / App Service)
- PostgreSQL (basic queries, Python DB work)
- APIs
- Some React on the frontend (not the focus)
What matters
- Strong backend fundamentals
- Comfortable working in unfamiliar systems
- Happy fixing problems rather than redesigning everything
