Summary: The role of SDET QA Engineer involves delivering high-quality software through automated UI and API testing, with a focus on PLM systems, particularly Centric PLM. The candidate will work in an Agile/Scrum environment, collaborating with various teams to ensure robust test coverage and defect tracking. Responsibilities include building and maintaining automated test suites and supporting sprint testing efforts. The position requires strong automation skills and effective collaboration with business analysts and developers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain API and UI automation using tools like Playwright, SpecFlow, and TestComplete.
- Lead scenario preparation for testing, covering all edge cases and critical paths.
- Actively participate in sprint planning, refining acceptance criteria from a testing perspective.
- Execute sprint testing, including test case creation, execution, and defect tracking.
- Develop and maintain an automated Regression Pack to ensure consistent validation of critical functionalities.
- Implement and maintain automated testing frameworks for both UI and API testing.
- Maintain heat maps and quality metrics, ensuring up-to-date visibility on test coverage.
- Work closely with business analysts and solution analysts to align test scenarios and requirements.
- Ensure the Test Approach is updated and correctly reflected in Jira stories.
- Support test data preparation for test environments.
- Keep QMetery updated with test cases, test runs, and results for proper documentation and traceability.
- Continuously improve manual and automated testing processes, adopting the latest tools and techniques.
- Collate test result data for release readiness reports.
Key Skills:
- Experience with a PLM System (preferably Centric PLM).
- Strong automation skills with Playwright, SpecFlow, and RestAPI.
- Solid understanding of testing methodologies, test case design, and defect tracking (JIRA).
- Hands-on experience with maintaining automated regression packs and contributing to sprint testing.
- Strong collaboration skills, working effectively with BAs and Solution Analysts on refining requirements and testing strategies.
- Ability to context switch between multiple tasks in a fast-paced Agile environment.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and test automation integration into Azure DevOps.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
