Contract role: Senior Data Engineer with Snowflake & Matillion Exp at USA (Remote) || W2 Only

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Snowflake and Matillion, along with solid Healthcare domain experience, to design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and cloud-based data solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience working with healthcare data, data warehouses, ETL/ELT processes, and healthcare data standards while ensuring data quality, security, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Matillion and Snowflake.
• Build and optimize healthcare data integration and transformation processes from multiple source systems.
• Develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and data transformations in Snowflake.
• Design and implement data models supporting healthcare analytics, reporting, and operational requirements.
• Work with healthcare datasets such as claims, encounters, eligibility, provider, member/patient, clinical, and pharmacy data.
• Perform data profiling, cleansing, validation, reconciliation, and quality checks.
• Optimize Snowflake queries, warehouses, and data-processing workloads for performance and cost.
• Develop reusable Matillion jobs and workflows for data ingestion and transformation.
• Integrate data from databases, APIs, flat files, cloud storage, and other healthcare source systems.
• Troubleshoot production data pipeline failures and resolve data quality and integration issues.
• Collaborate with Data Architects, Business Analysts, Healthcare SMEs, and downstream analytics teams.
• Ensure data solutions follow applicable healthcare data privacy and security requirements, including HIPAA where applicable.
• Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Maintain technical documentation for data pipelines, mappings, transformations, and data models.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering or related roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake.
• Strong hands-on experience with Matillion ETL/ELT.
• Advanced SQL development and query optimization skills.
• Strong experience developing enterprise ETL/ELT data pipelines.
• Solid understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and data architecture.
• Hands-on experience working with Healthcare data and systems.
• Experience with healthcare datasets such as Claims, Eligibility, Member, Provider, Encounter, Clinical, or Pharmacy data.
• Understanding of HIPAA, PHI/PII, and healthcare data security/compliance.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, and deployment automation.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
