Contract Project Manager - Remote - Outside IR35

We are working with a key client to recruit an experienced Contract IT Project Manager to lead the early discovery and scoping phases of several key technology initiatives across the business.

This role will focus on shaping projects from initial concept and discovery through to defined delivery plans, working closely with both technical teams and business stakeholders across multiple functions.

Two of the initial priority initiatives include:

• Reviewing and improving the organisation's RFI/RFP and supplier engagement processes

• Leading the discovery and feasibility work for a potential AI-powered chatbot implementation

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on, technically aware Project Manager who is comfortable operating in early-stage, evolving environments and can help translate business needs into structured, deliverable technology projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead discovery and scoping activities across multiple technology initiatives

• Engage with stakeholders across the business to gather requirements and define project scope

• Review and improve the current RFI/RFP and supplier procurement processes

• Lead initial vendor engagement, evaluation and solution assessment

• Scope and define the potential implementation of AI/chatbot technology

• Produce business cases, delivery roadmaps and project initiation documentation

• Manage relationships with third-party suppliers and technology partners

• Work closely with architecture and technical teams to shape solution design

• Establish appropriate delivery frameworks and governance

Experience Required

• Proven experience delivering IT/software delivery projects

• Strong experience leading discovery phases and project initiation

• Experience running RFI/RFP processes and supplier selection

• Exposure to AI technologies, chatbots, or automation initiatives

• Strong stakeholder management across technical and non-technical teams

• Experience managing third-party suppliers and technology vendors

• Good understanding of solution architecture and technical delivery

• Strong business analysis and requirements gathering skills

• Experience working with Agile and Waterfall delivery models
