Summary: WA Consultants is seeking an experienced IT Field Service Engineer for a 6-month contract to assist with the migration and integration of IT services following company expansion. The role requires conducting IT audits, evaluating infrastructure, and providing guidance on IT improvements while managing end-user transitions. The position involves travel across the South and South East of the UK, necessitating overnight stays. The candidate must be able to work autonomously within an agreed project scope.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct IT audit capturing information on hardware, PCs & laptops, alarm lines, CCTV, power, IT cabinets, telephony lines and systems, network WAN & LAN, and cabling (copper/fibre).
- Evaluate infrastructure layout and provide assessment on remediation works required.
- Provide guidance and recommendations on site IT improvements and readiness.
- Setup of end user IT equipment, compute, and peripherals.
- On-site installation, connectivity, and patching of network equipment and services.
- Manage and support end users' transition to new IT services.
- Decommission hardware, cabling, and legacy IT infrastructure.
- Work autonomously within an agreed project scope.
- Utilize ladder training and operate a 2-step ladder unattended.
