Summary: WA Consultants is seeking a Desktop Build and Deployment Engineer for a 6-month contract, primarily based near Maidenhead, with occasional travel to other sites in the Midlands, South, and Southeast of the UK. The role involves building desktop computers, installing software, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring quality assurance. The engineer will also manage inventory and collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building desktop computers from individual components, including installing CPUs, RAM, storage devices, GPUs, and other hardware.
  • Installing and configuring operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), drivers, and necessary software applications.
  • Identifying and resolving hardware and software issues during the build process and after deployment.
  • Conducting functionality and performance tests to ensure the computer meets specified requirements.
  • Creating and maintaining documentation related to the build process, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Managing and organising computer components and parts.
  • Working with other team members and departments to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of projects.

WA Consultants is currently recruiting for a Desktop Build and Deployment Engineer for an initial 6-month contract position.

This role will be based on our clients site near Maidenhead but there will be the occasional need to visit other sites within our clients group, likely to be in the Midlands, South and Southeast of the UK.

Key skills:

* PC Assembly: Building desktop computers from individual components, including installing CPUs, RAM, storage devices, GPUs, and other hardware.
* Software Installation and Configuration: Installing and configuring operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), drivers, and necessary software applications.
