Summary: The role of Contact Data Engineer involves supporting a retail organization's IT transformation by modernizing its data estate. The successful candidate will work on migrating legacy systems to a cloud-based data platform using Microsoft Azure technologies. This position requires collaboration in designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and models to ensure data quality and accessibility. The contract is for an initial duration of 6 months and is classified as inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the migration from legacy systems to a modern, cloud-based data platform built on Microsoft Azure technologies.
- Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines and models.
- Ensure data quality and accessibility across the organization.
- Collaborate with a team to contribute to the overall data strategy.
Key Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure Data Platform technologies (Synapse, Data Lakes, ADF).
- Expertise in data modelling, ETL/ELT pipeline development, and data integration.
- Proficient in SQL and Python (ideally PySpark).
- Knowledge of tools such as Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and DevOps (CI/CD pipelines).
- Experience working with enterprise data sources and APIs (e.g., Salesforce, MuleSoft).
- Familiarity with data governance, GDPR, and best practices in secure data provisioning.
