Our client, a fast-growing fintech start-up reshaping how people manage rent payments, is seeking a lawyer with consumer finance expertise to provide ongoing advisory support. The business enables renters to split monthly rent into smaller instalments, working with Banking and Credit-as-a-Service providers.

The Role

You will provide legal advice across consumer credit and UK financial services regulation, as well as general legal advice on start-up operations. The initial commitment will be 5–10 hours of advisory work, followed by a pause during product development, and then ongoing support through launch and scale-up. This is intended to be a long-term partnership.

Requirements

Strong expertise in UK consumer finance and credit regulation. Experience advising on fintech, payments or consumer lending products. Ability to provide practical, commercially focused legal advice to start-ups. Knowledge of working with Banking/Credit-as-a-Service providers desirable. Flexible, collaborative approach and interest in long-term engagement with a growing start-up.
