Summary: We are seeking a freelance Consultant for a short-term project focused on assessing climate risks in the energy sector. The role involves validating an existing climate risk assessment framework and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and validate an existing transitional climate risk assessment framework and methodology.
  • Conduct quality assurance to ensure completeness, accuracy, and consistency of results.

  • Advise on alignment with TCFD, NGFS scenarios, and relevant EU/UK regulatory requirements.

Key Skills:

  • Proven track record in transitional climate risk assessment within the energy, utilities, or commodities sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of policy, regulatory, and market drivers affecting the energy transition (eg, EU Fit-for-55, ETS reforms).
  • Familiarity with climate scenario analysis (NGFS, IEA, IPCC) and related modelling tools.
  • Experience with quality assurance/independent validation in climate or ESG risk contexts.
  • Understanding of energy trading risk management and how transition risks impact trading portfolios.
