Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Consultant with in-depth expertise in corrosion engineering and cathodic protection systems to support our project-based innovation and infrastructure resilience initiatives. This role involves preparing robust technical documentation to support UK innovation funding applications, infrastructure integrity grants, and regulatory submissions related to corrosion prevention, asset longevity, and environmental compliance. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of corrosion control techniques, cathodic protection systems (ICCP/SACP), and asset integrity management across sectors such as pipelines, fuel terminals, utilities, and marine infrastructure. The role requires the ability to translate complex engineering, materials science, and compliance data into clear, compelling documentation aligned with public funding frameworks, industrial decarbonisation, and infrastructure sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct technical research and prepare documentation on the operational, environmental, and economic impact of corrosion control systems across sectors such as fuel infrastructure, utilities, transport, and marine assets.
• Translate engineering data, asset condition assessments, and regulatory guidelines into structured content for grant applications, technical reports, and compliance documentation.
• Collaborate with asset owners, integrity engineers, and external consultants to ensure technical accuracy and alignment with funding and regulatory expectations.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies in corrosion mitigation, material science, and cathodic protection monitoring, as well as relevant UK/EU regulatory developments.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Proven expertise in corrosion control and cathodic protection across marine structures or industrial sites.
• Demonstrated involvement in asset integrity projects, including
• Familiarity with standards such as ISO 15589, NACE SP0169, or DNV corrosion guidelines.
• Strong technical writing skills with experience in drafting documents for engineering evaluations, or regulatory compliance.
• Understanding of UK/EU infrastructure regulations, emissions and environmental reporting, and capital investment frameworks for industrial upgrades.
• Experience engaging with multidisciplinary teams, including maintenance, operations, procurement, and sustainability departments.
• Detail-oriented, self-driven, and capable of managing multiple stakeholder inputs under tight project timelines.
