Cognos Developer

Summary: The Cognos Developer role involves gathering requirements, understanding existing data models, and assisting in the migration of reports within a BI environment. The position requires collaboration with stakeholders and offshore teams while supporting team members on Cognos and data models. The role is remote and is expected to last for three months, requiring significant experience in BI platforms, particularly Cognos. The candidate should also have a strong background in project management and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Gather requirements and ensure effective transition during discovery phase
• Understand existing data models and Cognos reports
• Help with extraction of metadata and data lineage from Cognos reports
• Understand the challenges in migration of reports from one data model to another and address those challenges
• Assist in evaluation of Gen-AI Accelerators for migration of reports
• Liaise with stakeholders and offshore team
• Support the team members on Cognos and data models
• Proactively identify risks and devise methods to mitigate

Key Skills:

• 10-12 years of experience in BI platforms specifically 5+ years in Cognos
• Experience with migration experience to modern cloud BI
• Good experience in Stakeholder Management, Project Management & Governance
• Good experience in training and supporting team members with technical details
• Data Modelling for BI, Cognos Framework Manager, Report Studio, Transformer, Cognos report lineage & metadata, SQL Query Optimization, BI Migration, Performance optimization
