CMS Medicaid Certification & Compliance Project Specialist

The Specialist will work closely with Business Leads, Project Teams, matrix managers, vendors, CMS and MITRE teams, and other stakeholders to ensure certification activities are properly coordinated, documented, and completed on schedule.

This is a new position created to provide direct support for sensitive state certification processes and high-visibility MES projects.

Responsibilities

• Support project teams in executing CMS Medicaid certification activities and requirements.
• Assist with leading certification workstream meetings and coordinating action items.
• Maintain and update the document repository for CMS certification artifacts by project.
• Co-manage the Certification Evidence Tracker.
• Pull, recommend, organize, and manage evidence from implemented solutions to meet CMS certification requirements.
• Compose narratives and supporting documentation for ORR and CRR evidence.
• Coordinate and oversee system demonstrations for Business stakeholders and CMS, as required.
• Maintain awareness of CMS certification program requirements, policy updates, and applicable organizational communications.
• Provide certification schedule activities to project teams for integration into overall project schedules.
• Support preparation for upcoming PBA CRR, DAP, and PDM ORR preparation cycles.
• Ensure continuity, accuracy, and quality in the management of certification deliverables.
• Coordinate effectively with MITRE, CMS, project teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Apply industry best practices to support compliance with CMS and State-defined performance standards.
• Identify and help mitigate certification and compliance risks.
• Support multiple projects and priorities while maintaining project scope, schedules, quality, and deliverables.
• Develop and maintain certification documentation, playbooks, manuals, and other technical materials.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of healthcare-related knowledge, preferably in analytics, reporting, or a related area.
• 3+ years of experience using project tracking tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, or MITAPulse.
• 5+ years of project management experience, including managing staff in matrixed or direct-reporting environments.
• 5+ years of experience managing multiple priorities/projects involving scope, schedules, quality, change management, and project financials.
• 2+ years of experience collaborating and coordinating with MITRE and CMS teams.
• 2+ years of experience with the CMS Medicaid Enterprise Certification Life Cycle process.
• 5+ years of experience implementing information systems in a client-facing role.
• 2+ years of experience preparing for ORR preparation cycles.
• 2+ years of experience pulling, recommending, and managing evidence from implemented solutions to meet CMS Certification requirements.
• 5+ years of experience using project tracking tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, or MITAPulse.
• 5+ years of exceptional technical writing experience, including authoring playbooks, manuals, procedures, and related documentation.
