Summary: The CMDB Helix Engineer role involves leading the design and implementation of a Configuration Management Database (CMDB) using BMC Helix. Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and build a Helix CMDB from scratch or near-scratch
  • Develop CMDB class structures, CI relationships, attributes, lifecycle states, and supporting data models
  • Define and implement normalization, reconciliation, identification, and data quality processes
  • Design and oversee integrations with infrastructure, network, security, cloud, monitoring, asset management, discovery, and configuration platforms
  • Establish source-of-truth strategies, data ownership frameworks, feed governance, and operational processes
  • Create dashboards and reporting focused on CMDB health, data quality, coverage, completeness, and reconciliation exceptions
  • Document architecture decisions, implementation approach, runbooks, operational procedures, and support models
  • Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to ensure long-term sustainability and adoption of the CMDB platform

Key Skills:

  • Recent hands-on experience implementing BMC Helix CMDB 22.x, 23.x, or newer
  • Proven experience designing and building enterprise CMDB solutions from the ground up
  • Strong understanding of Configuration Item (CI) modeling, relationship mapping, product catalog management, identification and reconciliation rules, data normalization and governance, and data quality controls and reporting
  • Experience integrating multiple enterprise data sources through APIs, ETL processes, middleware, or native platform integrations

Kforce has a client that is seeking a CMDB Helix Engineer in for a remote contract.

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced BMC Helix CMDB Architect/Consultant to lead the design and implementation of a Configuration Management Database (CMDB) from the ground up. This consultant will partner with infrastructure, security, operations, and application teams to establish a scalable CMDB framework, define governance standards, and integrate authoritative data sources across the enterprise.

The ideal candidate has recent hands-on experience implementing BMC Helix CMDB (22.x, 23.x, or newer) and has successfully owned CMDB architecture, data modeling, reconciliation strategy, and operational rollout from design through production support.

Responsibilities:
* Design and build a Helix CMDB from scratch or near-scratch

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience with Helix SaaS deployments and modern containerized/on-prem architectures
* Background in ETL frameworks, API-based ingestion, canonical data models, and enterprise reporting solutions
* Experience developing operational dashboards and governance processes for ongoing CMDB management

Important Note:
* Candidates with only general Helix administration, Remedy administration, ITSM workflow configuration, or incidental CMDB exposure will not be considered
* Candidates should be able to demonstrate direct ownership of CMDB architecture, implementation, data integration, and governance initiatives

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
