Summary: The role of Cloud Architect focuses on leading the migration of a hosted DMZ environment into Microsoft Azure, with a strong emphasis on security and scalability. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with Palo Alto Firewalls and Citrix Netscaler, ensuring best practices are followed throughout the transition. This position is remote and is structured as a short-term contract. The successful applicant will also be responsible for documentation and knowledge transfer to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the migration of a hosted DMZ into Azure, ensuring minimal disruption and optimal security.
  • Architect and implement secure Internet-facing access for Back End Servers and Netscalers.
  • Evaluate and configure Azure-native services including Azure Load Balancer, Application Gateway, Web Application Firewall (WAF), and NAT rules.
  • Advise on placement and configuration of NAT rules across Azure Load Balancer and Palo Alto Firewalls.
  • Optimize the existing Palo Alto Firewall setup (currently in a load-balanced sandwich configuration) for high availability and performance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to assess current infrastructure and define future-state architecture.
  • Provide documentation and knowledge transfer to stakeholders.

Key Skills:

  • Proven expertise with Palo Alto Firewalls, including advanced configuration and deployment in Azure.
  • Strong experience with Citrix Netscaler in cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Deep understanding of Azure networking components: Load Balancer, Application Gateway, WAF, NAT rules.
  • Experience designing and implementing secure DMZ architectures in Azure.

Cloud Architect (Azure & Palo Alto) - £650/day via Umbrella - short term Contract - Remote - SCC Flex Contract

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Architect with extensive experience in Palo Alto Firewalls and Citrix Netscaler to support a critical migration project. The successful candidate will lead the transition of an existing hosted DMZ environment into Microsoft Azure, ensuring secure and scalable architecture aligned with best practices (40 hours/1 week estimation).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the migration of a hosted DMZ into Azure, ensuring minimal disruption and optimal security.
  • Architect and implement secure Internet-facing access for Back End Servers and Netscalers.
