Summary: The Cloud Network Engineer is responsible for the configuration, installation, and support of network infrastructure in multi-cloud environments, focusing on network design, implementation, and troubleshooting. This role requires hands-on expertise in enterprise networking technologies and cloud security best practices, ensuring network availability and reliability. The engineer will monitor network operations, identify issues, and apply corrective actions as necessary. The position demands a strong understanding of cloud networking components and security controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and support cloud network infrastructure across Azure and OCI, including network connectivity and segmentation
  • Configure and maintain network security components, including Palo Alto firewalls and Cisco VPN concentrators
  • Deploy and manage virtual networking constructs such as subnets and Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs) to meet performance and security requirements
  • Apply cloud security best practices and implement security measures within cloud networks
  • Provide troubleshooting and corrective action for network issues affecting availability, reliability, and performance
  • Monitor network performance and system availability; perform ongoing operation oversight and capacity planning
  • Perform network maintenance and upgrades, including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations for third-party devices
  • Support identity and access management (IAM) requirements within cloud environments
  • Work with network administrators and engineers to deploy and troubleshoot firewalls, routers, VPN concentrators, and Network Access Control
  • Provide Level-2/3 support for incidents, problem resolution, and ongoing network operations support

Key Skills:

  • Eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance; U.S. citizenship required
  • Bachelor’s degree and seven (7) or more years of related experience, or a Master’s degree and four (4) or more years of related experience
  • In-depth, hands-on experience with major cloud platforms including Azure, OCI, and GCP
  • Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP networking concepts and protocols, including DNS, DHCP, VPN, BGP, OSPF, and NAT
  • Experience with software-defined networking (SDN) and virtual networking concepts
  • Experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and network deployments
  • Experience deploying AWS security groups using Terraform
  • Demonstrated experience with cloud or on-prem network devices, including Cisco and Palo Alto firewalls
  • Experience with EKS cluster networking and related connectivity requirements
  • Participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation is required for this role
  • Working technical knowledge of TCP/IP networks and standards (IEEE 802.1)

Publishing Pay Range: $58.00 - $60.00 hourly
