Summary: The role of Cloud Infrastructure Enterprise Architect involves leading the design and implementation of scalable and secure infrastructure solutions primarily using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for clients in the retail and telecommunications sectors. The architect will modernize legacy systems and support digital transformation initiatives while ensuring compliance with industry standards. This position requires extensive experience in IT infrastructure and cloud architecture, particularly with GCP services. The role is contract-based and classified as inside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect end-to-end cloud infrastructure solutions tailored to large-scale retail and telecom environments.
  • Lead infrastructure modernization projects including migration of compute, storage, and network workloads to GCP.
  • Design hybrid and multi-cloud architectures ensuring scalability, availability, and cost-efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including network engineers, security architects, and application developers.
  • Establish infrastructure standards and reference architectures for retail stores, data centers, and telecom networks.

Key Skills:

  • 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure or Cloud architecture roles, including experience with different industry verticals (Example - retail and/or telecom systems).
  • 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, with a strong focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with core GCP services (eg, Compute Engine, GKE, VPC, Cloud Storage, Cloud IAM, Cloud DNS, Cloud Load Balancing).
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, especially Terraform.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills (eg, Python, Bash, Go).
