Summary: The Cloud Engineer / Windows Server Admin role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable technology assets using AWS cloud technologies while providing system administration and end-user support in a mixed Windows Server environment. The position requires hands-on solution engineering, including API design, cloud infrastructure automation, and applying DevOps methodologies. The successful candidate will also be responsible for implementing security best practices and optimizing deployment pipelines. This is a remote position with the requirement to pick up equipment in person.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable technology assets leveraging AWS cloud technologies.
- Provide end user support, system administration, and problem resolution in a mixed Windows Server environment.
- Hands-on solution engineering on the AWS cloud platform, designing APIs, and automating cloud infrastructure provisioning.
- Implement security best practices and apply DevOps methodologies to streamline development and deployment processes.
- Implement and maintain full-stack cloud-native solutions on AWS cloud platform.
- Build responsive and user-friendly front-end applications using React, Node.js, and TypeScript.
- Leverage native cloud services to design, develop, and maintain cloud-based solutions.
- Develop and maintain APIs tailored for cloud environments leveraging AWS API Gateway.
- Implement cloud networking concepts, including VPCs, subnets, and security groups.
- Adopt cloud security best practices, including IAM.
- Implement serverless computing and event-driven architecture using AWS Lambda and AWS DynamoDB.
- Automate cloud infrastructure management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with AWS CloudFormation, AWS SAM, and Terraform.
- Script and automate tasks using Python.
- Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting for cloud infrastructure using AWS CloudWatch and CloudTrail.
- Optimize deployment pipelines for Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) using AWS CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, and CodePipeline.
- Collaborate with senior team members and business owners to deliver robust cloud-based solutions.
- Assist in designing scalable and resilient cloud engineering solutions aligned with business needs.
- Ensure comprehensive testing, security compliance, and operational stability of solutions.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation.
- Contribute to research and development initiatives and participate in technology skill enhancement programs.
- Experience in Microsoft server and network administration to include end user and vendor support.
- Proficient use of personal computers, ability to analyze data, document procedures, resolve technical issues, prepare reports, and provide desktop system support.
- Operational and administrative experience with Windows Servers and various SAAS environments.
Key Skills:
- Intermediate proficiency with the AWS Cloud Platform and familiarity with software engineering best practices.
- Strong experience implementing full-stack web applications using React, Node.js, TypeScript, and serverless back-end APIs with AWS Lambda and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Node.js).
- Solid understanding of version control (e.g., Git), DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate across diverse teams and build relationships with stakeholders.
- Passion for learning new technologies and staying updated on tech trends.
