Cloud Engineer - Azure / APIs / Integration - 3 Month Contract - Remote - Outside IR35
This isn’t a greenfield “build whatever you want” kind of role
It’s structured. Governed. Done properly
We're working with a consultancy who need a Cloud Engineer on a contract basis for an upcoming project focused on Azure integration and API delivery
It’s backend-heavy, API-led work, in an environment where standards, security, and consistency actually matter
What you’ll be doing
- Designing and building APIs in Azure
- Working across integration services, backend systems, and data flows
- Delivering REST and event-driven APIs
- Handling data transformation between systems
- Building services that are secure, observable, and reliable
- Working within platform standards, shared tooling, and governance
- This isn’t just “build an endpoint and move on”
You’ll be owning things properly - design, build, deploy, and run.
Skills include:
- Strong Azure experience (compute, data, integration)
- Solid .NET / C# backend background
- Good experience with API design and integration
- Understanding of API standards (versioning, security, etc.)
- Experience working in structured / governed environments
- Comfortable working across the full API lifecycle
Bonus if you’ve worked with:
- OAuth2 / authentication
- API management platforms
- CI/CD and platform tooling
The kind of person who’ll do well here
- You’ve worked on real integration problems, not just internal apps
- You understand how APIs fit into wider systems and partner ecosystems
- You’re comfortable working within guardrails, not fighting them
- You can come in, get up to speed quickly, and deliver without drama
If you’re more frontend-focused or purely product app dev, this probably isn’t for you
