Summary: The Cloud Cyber Security Consultant role involves delivering cloud security audits and implementing security technologies such as SIEM and EDR for clients. The position requires a strong technical background in cyber security and aims to provide leadership and guidance to existing security consultants. The contract is initially for 3-6 months with a high likelihood of extension. The consultant will also engage with clients at various levels to enhance their security posture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct security assessments to identify vulnerabilities in clients' networks, systems, and applications.
- Implement and configure SIEM, EDR, and Vulnerability scanning technologies in clients' environments - Focusing on Sentinel (and Palo XSIAM would be desirable).
- Understand the workings of Microsoft Security Solutions.
- Be able to remediate/support vulnerabilities discovered through security assessments.
- Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and standards.
- Provide guidance and support to clients on cyber security best practices and risk management.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of services and resolve technical issues.
- Keep up to date with emerging cyber security threats and trends and recommend appropriate countermeasures.
- Prepare and deliver reports on security assessments, vulnerability scans, and security incidents.
- Create defined playbooks that align with our threat profiles.
- Create automated workflows to drive efficiency for deployment tasks.
- Be able to spot and highlight areas of weakness to drive further business, whilst most importantly protecting our customers.
- Assist with new product onboarding.
- Speak with C-Level individuals, detailing reports created and work with customers to help achieve their goals.
- Create and develop High Level and Low-Level Designs based on services that we deliver to customers.
- Support the sales team with the task of approaching new customers and determining their requirements for the test.
- Work with our internal teams to design and test new applications and existing infrastructure, protecting them from threats.
- Work with the wider IT team to raise the level of Telefónica's information security awareness and compliance to security policies with practical initiatives.
Key Skills:
- Experience leading conversations with customers at a high and low level.
- Demonstrated experience as a team or project leader in a complex IT environment, preferably in security.
- Have experience and strong understanding in Azure, AWS Cloud Services, including security services.
- Demonstrated knowledge of cyber security policies and standards in a highly regulated environment.
- Formalized training or certification in one or more areas of cyber security specialization.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including a strong ability to create positive and professional business relationships with partner engineering and architecture teams across IT.
- Strong commitment to talent development, training, and coaching to acquire and retain key security talent.
- Enthusiasm for Cyber Security (GitHub Collaborations, HackTheBox, RootMe, Attack-Defense Labs, Bug Bounty programs).
- Strong analytical skills, able to break down difficult topics to customers without any technical knowledge.
- Logical thinker and creative problem solver.
