Summary: The Cloud (Azure) Architect role is focused on defining technology strategies related to business change for a leading financial services organization. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure compliance and governance while implementing Azure cloud architecture. The role is primarily strategic and advisory, rather than hands-on, with an emphasis on architectural assurance and quality assurance of deliverables. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise in Azure and enterprise technologies to influence business and IT strategies effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define business change related technology strategies, particularly for Cloud (Azure).
- Collaborate with Data Science/Data Strategy teams on business change activities.
- Establish repeatable architecture patterns and produce infrastructure designs with a focus on security and service.
- Work with and influence business and technical stakeholders to align with overall business and IT strategy.
- Ensure architectural assurance of deliveries and quality assurance of peer deliverables.
- Provide advice and guidance during implementation phases, working with subject matter experts.
- Maintain focus on business objectives while ensuring compliance, security, and governance outcomes.
Key Skills:
- Proficiency in Azure cloud technologies.
- Experience as a Technical or Infrastructure Architect with in-depth Azure knowledge.
- Desirable skills in Azure Machine Learning, Azure Databricks, Azure Datafactory, Azure DevOps, Azure Container Registry, and Docker.
- Broad experience in enterprise technologies and SME roles.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for interaction at all business levels.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technology, service, and security deliverables.
- Risk identification and mitigation skills.
- Experience in supporting and designing mission-critical infrastructure solutions.
- Implementation and solution design experience with core technologies (Windows, Linux, Web, Middleware, Database, Security Gateways, LAN/WAN Networking).
- Experience with large public cloud implementations, specifically Azure.
- Knowledge of machine learning, data bricks, or data & analytics is beneficial.
- IT security and risk experience in an architecture role.
- Experience in highly regulated environments.
- Knowledge of Waterfall and Agile delivery methodologies.
