Summary: The Cloud (Azure) Architect role involves defining technology strategies related to business change for a leading financial services organization. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure compliance and security while focusing on Azure cloud architecture and services. The role is primarily strategic and advisory, rather than hands-on, and emphasizes the importance of delivering business objectives. Engagement is through an umbrella company only.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define business change related technology strategies, particularly for Cloud (Azure).
  • Collaborate with Data Science/Data Strategy teams on business change activities.
  • Establish repeatable architecture patterns and produce infrastructure designs with a focus on security and service.
  • Influence business and technical stakeholders while understanding overall business and IT strategy.
  • Ensure architectural assurance of deliveries and quality assurance of peer deliverables.
  • Provide advice and guidance during implementation in collaboration with SMEs.
  • Maintain compliance, security, and governance outcomes while focusing on business objectives.

Key Skills:

  • Proficient in Azure cloud architecture and services.
  • Experience as a Technical or Infrastructure Architect.
  • Desirable knowledge of Azure Machine Learning, Azure Databricks, Azure Datafactory, Azure DevOps, and Docker.
  • Broad experience with enterprise technologies and SME roles.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for interaction at all business levels.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technology, service, and security deliverables.
  • Risk identification and mitigation skills.
  • Experience in designing mission-critical infrastructure solutions.
  • Exposure to core technologies including Windows, Linux, Web, Middleware, Database, and Networking.
  • Experience with large public cloud implementations, specifically Azure.
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning, Data Bricks, or Data & Analytics is beneficial.
  • IT security and risk experience in an architecture role.
  • Experience in highly regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with Waterfall and Agile delivery methodologies.
