Summary: The Cloud (Azure) Architect role is focused on defining technology strategies related to business change for a leading financial services organization. This fully remote position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure architectural assurance and governance across multiple technology areas. The role emphasizes the development of repeatable architecture patterns and infrastructure designs, particularly in Azure, while addressing security and service aspects. The position is not hands-on but involves providing advice and guidance during implementation phases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define business change related technology strategies, including Cloud (Azure) technology strategies.
- Collaborate with Data Science/Data Strategy teams on business change activities.
- Develop repeatable architecture patterns and produce infrastructure designs with a focus on security and service.
- Work with and influence business and technical stakeholders to align with overall business and IT strategy.
- Ensure architectural assurance of deliveries and quality assurance of peer deliverables.
- Produce high-level operational acceptance test plans.
- Provide advice and guidance during implementation phases with SMEs.
- Govern technology decisions across multiple technology areas for the benefit of the company.
Key Skills:
- Expertise in Cloud technologies, specifically Azure.
- Background as a Technical or Infrastructure Architect with in-depth knowledge of Azure.
- Broad experience in enterprise technologies and various SME roles.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for interaction at all business levels.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technology, service, and security deliverables.
- Risk identification and mitigation skills.
- Experience in supporting and designing mission-critical infrastructure solutions.
- Exposure to core technologies (Windows, Linux, Web, Middleware, Database, Security Gateways, LAN/WAN Networking).
- Experience with large public cloud implementations, particularly Azure.
- Knowledge of machine learning, Data Bricks, or data & analytics is beneficial.
- IT security and risk experience as part of an architecture role.
- Experience in highly regulated environments.
- Knowledge of Waterfall and Agile delivery methodologies.
