Summary: The GCP Cloud Infrastructure Architect will lead infrastructure modernization initiatives for enterprise customers, focusing on data center migrations to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and designing hybrid environments using Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE). The role requires expertise in architecting secure and high-performance GCP networking solutions. The position is remote and falls under an inside IR35 contract for a duration of 6 months, with the possibility of extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end data center (DC) migration programs from legacy environments to GCP.
- Design, configure, and operationalize Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE) environments.
- Architect and implement secure and scalable GCP networking solutions, including VPC, Shared VPC, Subnets, Routes, VPNs, Interconnects, Peering, Load Balancing, and Firewall Rules.
- Perform infrastructure assessments and define migration roadmaps using tools like Migrate for Compute Engine or Application Migration Center.
- Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform or Deployment Manager.
- Collaborate with client security, compliance, and operations teams to ensure cloud readiness.
- Provide technical leadership, documentation, and enablement to client infrastructure teams.
Key Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of experience in infrastructure design, VMware, and cloud migrations.
- Expertise in GCVE, VMware (vSphere, vCenter, NSX, vSAN), and hybrid cloud integration.
- Strong knowledge of networking, including IP routing, DNS, NAT, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform, Linux/Windows systems, and GCP CLI/SDK.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Certification: Google Professional Cloud Architect (mandatory).
- Familiarity with migration tools: Migrate for Compute Engine, Velostrata, CloudEndure.
- Experience with hybrid security models, IAM, and GCP resource hierarchy.
- Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines in GCP.
