Summary: The Cloud Application Security Consultant role involves providing post-sales technical expertise to customers, focusing on maximizing their investment in Cloudflare products. The consultant will be responsible for implementing solutions, troubleshooting issues, and sharing knowledge through documentation and reusable assets. This position requires a strong background in web security and performance optimization, along with experience in customer-facing technical services. The role is remote and primarily serves clients within the EU.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver organized services to help customers adopt Cloudflare products and best practices.
  • Collect business and technical requirements to design and implement solutions, including Solution Designs, HLDs, LLDs, test/deployment/migration plans, and documentation.
  • Execute changes in the Cloudflare environment and support integration with customer systems.
  • Troubleshoot implementation issues and coordinate with Support and Engineering for escalations.
  • Share knowledge internally and externally through documentation, Q&A, and reusable assets like automation scripts and workflows.

Key Skills:

  • 7+ years in a customer-facing technical services or consulting role.
  • Knowledge of Cloudflare preferred.
  • Strong understanding of OSI model protocols (TCP/IP, TLS, DNS, HTTP).
  • Web security and performance (DDoS, WAF, OWASP, MTLS, caching, TLSv1.3, HTTP/3).
  • CDN, certificates, DNS, logs, and analytics.
  • Skilled in scripting (Python, JavaScript, Bash) and comfortable learning more.
  • Experience with APIs, Terraform, CI/CD (Git, Azure DevOps).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and drive projects to completion.
  • Fluent in English is a must and an additional language is a bonus, French or German preferred.

Role Overview As a Consultant in Application Security you are a post-sales technical expert guiding customers to maximize their Cloudflare investment. You specialize in Layer 7 products such as DDoS Protection, WAF, API Gateway, Bot Management, Rate Limiting, Certificates Manager, SSL, and Page Shield.
