Summary: We are looking for a highly skilled Cisco Network Engineer for a contract role focused on planning, deploying, and migrating to a new Cisco-based VXLAN MP-BGP EVPN Data Center Network environment. The position requires hands-on experience with Cisco hardware and the ability to work collaboratively with the existing networking team. The role is primarily remote but may require occasional site visits to the Ripon Head Office and other data center locations. The contract is initially for 3-6 months and is classified as inside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the planning, deployment, and migration to a new Cisco-based VXLAN MP-BGP EVPN Data Center Network environment.
• Work with the UK networking team to provide hands-on skills for data center build and migration.
• Assist in the implementation of Networking Low-Level Designs (LLD).
• Ensure network components are installed and configured according to design specifications.
• Participate in migration activities, ensuring minimal disruption to existing operations.
• Document network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting steps as required.
• Provide post-migration support to ensure smooth network operations.
• Monitor network performance and implement optimization strategies.
• Participate in regular project meetings and provide status updates on implementation and migration progress.

Key Skills:

• Experience with VXLAN MP-BGP EVPN Data Center environments utilizing Cisco NDFC and Cisco 9300 series hardware.
• CCNP Data Center or equivalent certification.
• Practical experience in data center migration, specifically L3 based migrations.
• Knowledge of migrating networking services including WAN, Internet, Firewalls, and load balancing.
• Experience with Cisco IOS switching and routing, Cisco Nexus 7k/5k/2K, and Cisco 9300 series platforms.
• Working knowledge of BGP, OSPF, and ISIS implementation.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience with retail and distribution enterprise networks.
