Summary: The CICS Mainframe Engineer role is focused on upgrading test and live CICS environments for a Banking Client in Glasgow. The position requires extensive experience in CICS, with responsibilities including enhancing security and resilience, managing technical risks, and collaborating with stakeholders. The role is initially for 12 months and can be performed fully remotely, with occasional travel to Glasgow. Candidates must engage via an FCSA accredited Umbrella Company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Upgrade both test and live CICS environments.
• Drive enhancements to the security and resilience of CICS environments.
• Identify, quantify, and communicate technical risks.
• Explore and test efficiencies within the CICS setup.
• Work with stakeholders to resolve issues and incidents.

Key Skills:

• Demonstrable experience in CICS with a sound understanding of resilience, operability, and security principles.
• Experience in planning, preparing, and delivering CICS upgrades.
• Good understanding of IT infrastructure including hardware, networking, data, and Middleware.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-changing environment.
• Experience in Banking/Financial Services environment.
• Previous MQ administration experience is advantageous but not essential.
