Summary: The CICS Mainframe Engineer role is focused on upgrading test and live CICS environments for a Banking Client in Glasgow. The position requires extensive experience in CICS and involves enhancing security and resilience, managing technical risks, and collaborating with stakeholders. This is an initial 12-month contract that allows for remote work with occasional travel to Glasgow. Candidates must engage through an FCSA accredited Umbrella Company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Upgrade both test and live CICS environments.
• Drive enhancements to the security and resilience of CICS environments.
• Identify, quantify, and communicate technical risks.
• Explore and test efficiencies within the CICS setup.
• Work with stakeholders to resolve issues and incidents.

Key Skills:

• Demonstrable experience in CICS with a strong understanding of resilience, operability, and security principles.
• Experience in planning, preparing, and delivering CICS upgrades.
• Good understanding of IT infrastructure including hardware, networking, data, and middleware.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-changing environment.
• Experience in Banking/Financial Services environment.
• Previous MQ administration experience is advantageous but not essential.
