Summary: Our client, a rapidly growing startup, is seeking a CAM Workflow Developer to automate the transition from parametric CAD outputs into machine-specific formats using their innovative 3D CPQ platform. The role involves developing intelligent toolpath workflows to enhance manufacturing efficiency and accuracy. This is a fully remote position for a 12-month contract, with the potential for extension, open to candidates worldwide who possess the required skills. The successful candidate will play a key role in revolutionizing the interior manufacturing industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Automate toolpath generation using CAM software such as Fusion 360, RhinoCAM, or WoodWOP.
  • Develop workflows to ensure customer-configured designs are fabricated efficiently.
  • Collaborate with CAD and backend teams for seamless CAD to CAM translation.
  • Analyze complex manufacturing workflows and create innovative solutions.
  • Ensure accuracy and precision of CAM outputs.
  • Stay updated with the latest CAM technologies and industry trends.

Key Skills:

  • Proficiency in Fusion 360, RhinoCAM, WoodWOP, or equivalent CAM software.
  • Experience with CAM for cabinetry or furniture manufacturing.
  • Basic scripting/macro development experience (Python, JavaScript, or post-processors).
  • Knowledge of cabinetry construction and machining logic.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Our client is a rapidly growing startup that is transforming the interior manufacturing industry through their innovative 3D CPQ platform. They are seeking a talented CAM Workflow Developer to join their team and help automate the transition from parametric CAD outputs into machine-specific formats. As the CAM Workflow Developer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that customer-configured designs can be fabricated efficiently and accurately with minimal manual programming. By developing intelligent toolpath workflows, reducing manual programming, and contributing to the digitisation of the manufacturing process, you will be at the forefront of revolutionising the industry. This is a fully remote 12 month contract role (potential to be extended) and our client will consider candidates based in any country as long as you match all the must have skills and are at the top of your game.

Technical Must Have Skills:

  • Proficiency in Fusion 360, RhinoCAM, WoodWOP, or equivalent CAM software - You will be responsible for scripting or building macros to automate toolpath generation, so a strong command of these tools is essential.
  • Experience with CAM for cabinetry or furniture manufacturing - You should have a deep understanding of CNC routers, nesting, and other manufacturing processes specific to the cabinetry and furniture industry.
  • Basic scripting/macro development experience - Whether it's Python, JavaScript, or post-processors, you should be comfortable with programming to automate complex workflows.
  • Knowledge of cabinetry construction and machining logic - Your understanding of joinery, tooling offsets, and production optimization will be crucial in developing efficient CAM solutions.
  • Collaboration skills - You will work closely with the CAD and backend teams to ensure seamless CAD to CAM translation, so strong communication and teamwork skills are a must.

Technical Nice to Have Skills:

  • Experience with cabinet design software - Knowledge of tools like Cabinet Vision, TopSolid, or similar will be advantageous in understanding the design-to-manufacturing process.
  • Lean manufacturing principles - An understanding of lean manufacturing concepts will help you optimise the CAM workflows and drive continuous improvement.
  • Leadership experience - If you have a proven track record of leading the implementation of manufacturing technology, that would be highly valuable for this role.
