Calculations Analyst - Pensions

Summary: The role of Pensions Calculations Analyst involves analyzing pension calculation requirements, developing calculation logic, and conducting extensive testing of pension calculations. This position is a 6-month remote contract and requires strong hands-on experience in defined benefit (DB) pensions calculations. The analyst will also oversee testing contributions from other analysts while focusing solely on analysis, calculation build, and testing without configuration tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyse documents produced by the team (scheme structure + benefit basis) to understand calculation requirements.
• Develop & document pension calculation logic for:
  • Deferred-to-retirement calculations
  • Death in deferment
  • Death in retirement
• Produce manual calculations and testing scenarios covering all variable combinations.
• Conduct extensive testing of pensions calculations on the admin system.
• Oversee analysts contributing to testing work.

Key Skills:

• Strong hands-on experience in DB pensions calculations, including complex scenarios.
• Ability to:
  • Interpret technical scheme documentation
  • Write accurate manual calculations
  • Identify required test cases and edge scenarios
• Testing experience specific to pension calculations (highly desirable).
• Ability to work independently but also collaborate with analysts.
