Calculations Analyst

Summary: The role of Pensions Calculations Analyst involves analyzing pension calculation requirements and developing corresponding logic for various scenarios. The position is focused on manual calculations and extensive testing of pension calculations within an administrative system. It requires strong hands-on experience in defined benefit (DB) pensions calculations and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. This is a remote, 6-month contract position classified as inside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyse documents produced by the team (scheme structure + benefit basis) to understand calculation requirements.
• Develop & document pension calculation logic for deferred-to-retirement calculations, death in deferment, and death in retirement.
• Produce manual calculations and testing scenarios covering all variable combinations.
• Conduct extensive testing of pensions calculations on the admin system.
• Oversee analysts contributing to testing work.

Key Skills:

• Strong hands-on experience in DB pensions calculations, including complex scenarios.
• Ability to interpret technical scheme documentation.
• Ability to write accurate manual calculations.
• Ability to identify required test cases and edge scenarios.
• Testing experience specific to pension calculations (highly desirable).
