CAD Drafter - Residential Architecture

If you have a Diploma or certification in drafting, architecture , or a related field, and hands-on experience designing single homes , we want to hear from you! In this role, you’ll play a key part in transforming architectural sketches into detailed, code-compliant technical drawings , using industry-standard tools like ArchiCAD and more. Your ability to interpret complex plans, maintain impeccable accuracy, and communicate effectively with architects and designers will set you up for success. Job Highlights: Contract type: Independent Contractor Schedule: Flexible schedule within client business hours NSW Working hours: Monday to Friday 4 hours per day, 20 Hours a week

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with architects and designers to understand the design intent and requirements.
• Prepare detailed architectural drawings, plans, and layouts for residential projects.
• Ensure all drawings adhere to established specifications and standards.
• Make revisions to designs and drawings based on feedback from architects or clients.
• Convert rough sketches and designs into detailed CAD (Computer-Aided Design) or other relevant software drawings.
• Maintain organized records of all drawings, blueprints, and revisions.
• Stay updated with the latest drafting tools, software, and technologies.
• Attend virtual meetings with architects, designers, and other stakeholders to discuss project details.
• Ensure timely delivery of drawings and plans to meet project timelines.

Requirements

• Diploma or certification in drafting, architecture, or a related field.
• Should have experience of designing housed (Single homes)
• Proficiency in drafting software such as ArchiCAD Drafting software , and other relevant tools.
• Strong attention to detail and precision in creating technical drawings.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with architects and designers.
• Ability to interpret complex architectural sketches and transform them into detailed drawings.
• Knowledge of building codes, standards, and regulations related to residential projects

Highly Regarded Skills and Experience:

• Experience in residential architecture drafting.
• Familiarity with 3D modeling tools.
• Prior experience in a similar remote role.
• Strong understanding of construction methods and materials for residential projects.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
