Summary: The CAD Designer role focuses on producing accurate technical drawings and models for lightning protection and earthing systems within a freelance capacity. Key Responsibilities:
- Produce 2D technical drawings and 3D models (AutoCAD essential; Revit advantageous).
- Develop layout drawings, schematics and installation details from surveys and engineering specifications.
- Maintain drawing registers and revision control.
- Support project documentation, including BOMs and technical reports.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant British Standards (e.g., BS EN 62305, BS 7430).
Key Skills:
- Proven CAD experience within engineering, electrical or construction sectors.
- Strong AutoCAD skills and understanding of technical drawing standards.
- Ability to interpret site surveys and engineering notes into accurate CAD outputs.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Experience in lightning protection or electrical systems essential.

This is a an ongoing Freelance role.
Our client is a specialist provider of lightning protection, surge protection and earthing systems, delivering design, installation, testing and maintenance services across commercial, industrial and public sector projects throughout the UK.
We are looking for a strong skilled CAD Designer to support our engineering and project teams by producing accurate technical drawings and models for lightning protection and earthing systems.
