Summary: The role of C# / WPF / WCF / Winform Developer at a global bank in Canary Wharf involves application development and system support, primarily using C# and WPF technologies. The position requires collaboration with various teams to ensure effective implementation and troubleshooting of applications across different environments. The developer will also engage in database management and user support, ensuring adherence to programming policies and maintaining application change history.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand business requirements and design application structures.
  • Program WPF applications in Visual C#.NET using Oracle and SQL Server databases.
  • Test applications with users and implement changes across Development, QA, Production, and Disaster Recovery environments.
  • Support users and write operational documents, including user manuals.
  • Develop and support existing WinForms applications and other languages like MS VBA.
  • Define database objects and provide scripts for T-SQL and PL/SQL for data analysis.
  • Set up system distribution methods for Citrix and application servers.
  • Troubleshoot systems and implement solutions for failures.
  • Update versions of MS .Net Framework and Visual .NET platform.
  • Liaise with support teams to resolve system problems and assess data processing impacts.
  • Coordinate with the Release manager for rolling out changes and maintaining change history.

Key Skills:

  • Proficiency in C#, WPF, WCF, and WinForms development.
  • Experience with SQL Server and Oracle databases.
  • Strong understanding of application testing and user support.
  • Knowledge of MS VBA, MS VB, and Excel Macros.
  • Ability to troubleshoot Windows Operating System and Internet Information Server.
  • Familiarity with database inquiry languages like T-SQL and PL/SQL.
  • Experience in system distribution methods and application server management.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to follow programming policies and maintain documentation.
